Center for Crops Utilization Research (CCUR) is located in Ames, Iowa. Interstate 35 runs north and south just east of Ames, and U.S. Highway 30 runs east and west just south of campus.

If you are traveling to Ames via Interstate 35, take Exit 111B labeled "30 West." Travel west on Highway 30, then take Exit 146, the "University Boulevard/ISU" exit. Drive north on University Boulevard to Lincoln Way (the fourth traffic light). At Lincoln Way, turn left (west) past Hilton Coliseum and C.Y. Stephens auditorium. Turn right on Beach Drive and then left on Wallace Road. CCUR is located at 1041 Food Sciences Building.

Parking Options

Visitor Permits

Visitor permits can be obtained at the Armory (Room 27, Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.). and at the Information Booth (near the corner of South 4th Street and University Blvd., Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Visitor permits may be obtained after hours at the Police Division office, Room 55 Armory. Visitor permits are valid only in General Staff and Student Lots. To request a permit online, visit

Memorial Union Parking Ramp

The Memorial Union Parking Ramp is located a short distance from the Food Sciences Building. All day parking is available for a fee. For information, visit

Pay-by-the-hour parking is available in the East Campus Parking Deck, located across the street from the Food Sciences Building. For information, visit

Campbell Transit Hub – CyRide Park & Ride

Commuters can park at the designated (A3, A4, B4, B5, B6) parking lots at the Iowa State Center for free and take CyRide’s #23 Orange Route into campus. Overnight parking is not available in the commuter lots. For more information, visit CyRide’s web site at
