CCUR affiliate Stephanie Clark, an associate professor in food science and human nutrition, is one of the state’s leaders in promoting Iowa cheese. Her efforts were key in bringing an international cheese conference to Iowa, forming a new guild that connects the state’s dairy professionals and co-founding a statewide dairy products showcase.

Three people posing for a picture.For the second year in a row, Hans van Leeuwen's IngeniOz was named "Best Vodka" by voters in Cityview Magazine's annual "Best of Des Moines" poll. It also was voted "Best Iowa Product," beating out Iowa favorites Raygun and Templeton Rye. The closest competitors for best vodka were Grey Goose and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.

A New Holland tractor pulling a baler behind it.New Holland Agriculture, represented by Scott Wangsgard, has generously provided several pieces of equipment on loan to the BioCentury Research Farm for biomass crop research projects. The loan includes three tractors, a disc mower and a round baler. The equipment will be used to support research on several crops including corn stover, switchgrass and Miscanthus.
