Mitchel joined the Center for Crops Utilization Research in November 2021. He has been with the Iowa State University since 2013. Mitchel has expertise in pilot scale customized extrusion research and project coordination. His role as technical project specialist is to develop, manage, and conduct research projects for both University and private industry.  Before joining CCUR, Mitchel worked as a research technician for the Center for Industrial and Services and Polymer and Food Protection Consortium. In this role, he managed daily lab operations for various polymer processing, analytical characterization, and testing equipment, such as single and twin extrusion (strand, cast, blown film), injection molding, DSC, TGA, FTIR, and various mechanical property testing techniques. Mitchel participated in leading project discussion with clients, experimental design, and execution.
